Afrofusion is a combination of different contemporary Afro-styles from across the African continent. In honor of Black History Month, join Kemi, Kunle, and Gray as they explore some of Afro's most iconic songs, grooves, and dance styles. These beginner/intermediate classes will include both Afro steps and choreography and most classes can be taken in-person or virtually.

MARCH 1ST
"My favorite part about dancing is training to get better. My approach to dance is to treat every area as if you know absolutely nothing. Asking questions and building on your unique take on moves is what will always propel you forward."
Kunle is an electrical engineer and Houston Afrodance native. He has been a professional dancer for four years, working with artists such as Dbanj, Tenno, Skales, and more. He is focused on taking a humble approach to learning and developing techniques with different grooves.
He's bringing Amapiano and that South African vibe to ICDH on March 1st at 7:30 pm so don't miss out! Hesitant? Kunle says "breathe... it's just class."

Graythehommie is a dancer and choreographer who specializes in different styles such as Afro-fusion, dancehall, soca, and hip hop. He has an interest in sharing his knowledge of dance with people of different levels and backgrounds, he is a member of a dance crew called vex nation a team focused mainly on Afro-fusion and dancehall styles.
In 2016, he moved to Barbados where he was exposed to the Afro Soca culture, worked with artists such as Machel Montano Ricky T, and many more.

Kemi OG is a structural engineer, dance artist, choreographer, fitness instructor, and creative director. She is the Afrodance Instructor for the Institute of Contemporary Dance, and founder of Afrobeats with Kemi OG, an Afrodance program focused on teaching technique and fusion choreography. Since 2012, she has trained and taught Afrodance, produced several shows, and curated multimedia performance pieces. She has performed for artists such as Tiwa Savage, Oritse Femi, Toofan, Yemi Alade, Eddy Kenzo, Afro B, Mr. Eazi, Kizz Daniel, and others. Kemi has a passion for learning and sharing African culture and history through dance, and using the dance form as a medium for talking about social issues while encouraging mental wellness and self-worth through movement.
